What Is BIOS?

BIOS is the acronym of Basic Input/Output System that is a firmware embedded on a small memory chip on the PC's system board or motherboard. BIOS interface is designed for advanced PC users. Change certain settings on BIOS could prevent the PC from starting correctly, prevent the operating system from loading or suffering potential loss of data. To prevent the BIOS settings changed by the other unauthorized person, we can set a security password on BIOS. But if we forgot BIOS password, we can't get into BIOS too.

How many passwords can be set up in the BIOS of a Laptop?

System or User passwords: there are up to 4 master passwords - Password that you must enter to log on to the computer. Prevents an unauthorized user from using the computer. Without the user password, a user cannot enter the BIOS, access the one time boot menu (F12 menu), or boot into the operating system.

Setup or Admin password: there are up to 3 master passwords- Password that you must enter to access and make changes to the BIOS settings of the computer. Prevents an unauthorized user from accessing the BIOS or making changes to the settings in the BIOS.
